Praise and Worship Music
The Community of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFRs) was begun in 1987 in the South Bronx by eight Capuchin friars desiring to work more definitively for personal and communal reform within the Catholic Church. The life and apostolate of the friars are rooted in the ideals and spirit of the Capuchin reform born in the early 16th century. They number 140 friars in five countries. Several of the friars are well-known musicians helping people young and old, with original songs and cover tunes, come to and grow in faith and to adore the Lord. Their music can be found here. Several friars will be playing the Musical Interludes and a Praise and Worship Holy Hour during the NY State Eucharistic Congress.

The Sisters of Life are a contemplative/active Roman Catholic community of women religious, who profess the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. They were founded by Cardinal John O’Connor in New York in 1991, and received formal approbation as a religious institute in 2004, under Cardinal Edward Egan. They currently serve in the [Arch]dioceses of New York, Albany, Bridgeport, Philadelphia, Denver, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., and Toronto, Canada. Their missions include serving women who are vulnerable to abortion, giving them the support and resources to be able to choose life for themselves and their children; hosting weekend retreats; evangelization; outreach to college students; and helping women who have suffered after abortion to encounter the mercy and healing of Jesus Christ. The Sisters feature many musicians who compose original songs and play cover tunes for monthly events of adoration, praise and worship at St. Patrick's Cathedral, at the annual Seek Conferences and more. Several Sisters of Life will be coming to help all attendees at the Eucharistic Congress, during Musical Interludes as well as a Praise and Worship Holy Hour, to lift up their minds and hearts to God. The Sisters who will be singing will be Sr. Gianna Maria, SV, Sr. Mary Pieta, SV, Sr. Martha Maria Guadalupe, SV, Sr. Eden Marie, SV and Sr. Zion Joy, SV.
